David and Alice first met in 2013 through a mutual group of friends who were all attending a hobby convention in Baltimore. Five years later, they reconnected after David moved to Boston, where Alice was already living, and quickly bonded over their mutual love of games, anime, and trying new restaurants.

 

David and Alice had their first date in 2019 at a cat cafe in New York, and managed to fit in a handful of additional restaurant dates before the pandemic hit a few months later. They managed to get through a whole year of being stuck in a small apartment together and came out the other side still liking each other! Since then, they've explored lots of new restaurants, finished plenty of games and TV shows together, and have begun to travel and attend more in-person events in recent years.

 

David proposed on a beautiful fall afternoon in 2022, and David and Alice traveled to China shortly after to meet each other's relatives and extended family in their hometowns Shanghai, Harbin, and Shenyang. Alice and David will be married in November in Cambridge, just blocks away from where they live - and can't wait to share this special day with everyone!
